Medical device in powder form for the preparation of an oral suspension indicated for effective cleansing of the intestinal tract before endoscopic examinations or specific clinical conditions requiring complete intestinal cleansing.
The removal of solid components present in the colon is essential for accurate diagnosis during endoscopic examination.
Lovol-esse Duo contains polyethylene glycol 3350, an inert substance that is not absorbed by the intestine, does not irritate the mucous membrane, does not ferment, and is excreted unchanged from the digestive tract. Polyethylene glycol 3350 attracts a large amount of water, which softens the fecal mass and stimulates natural intestinal peristalsis.
Additionally, simethicone, present in the formulation, is effective in adsorbing gastrointestinal gas associated with constipation due to its anti-foaming action.

Directions for use
For a complete cleansing of the intestine, necessary for preparation for certain diagnostic examinations (endoscopic or radiological examinations of the large intestine, abdominal ultrasounds) and in other clinical conditions, strictly follow the instructions provided by the center where the endoscopic examination will be performed, which normally include a controlled dietary regimen in the days preceding the examination.
For the extemporaneous preparation of the oral suspension, pour the contents of 2 sachets into 1 liter of water, shake well until a homogeneous suspension is obtained. The suspension should be consumed within 1-2 hours: preferably by drinking 250 ml of suspension every 10-15 minutes.
Supplement with 500 ml of water (half a liter), until a total of 1.5 L is consumed (1 liter of preparation and 500 ml of water).
After about 1 hour, repeat the preparation with the other 2 sachets in one liter of water and consume as described above, until 3 liters of suspension have been consumed.
After consuming the first liter, you will begin to feel intestinal movements and the urge to evacuate. Evacuations will become increasingly liquid until clear liquid is passed without fecal residue. This indicates that the cleansing has been performed correctly and you are ready for the examination. The consumption of the preparation is generally not accompanied by discomfort or abdominal pain.

Components
60 g polyethylene glycol 3350 and 80 mg simethicone; excipients: silicon dioxide, flavor, sodium saccharin.

Warnings
Lovol-esse Duo should not be administered in cases of:
- known hypersensitivity to the product components;
- intestinal stenosis or obstruction;
- dynamic ileus;
- acute or severe colitis;
- toxic megacolon;
- intestinal perforation;
- gastric stasis;
- chronic inflammatory bowel diseases such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease;
- patients weighing less than 20 kg or under 2 years of age.
There are no reported experiences regarding consumption during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Therefore, the use of Lovol-esse Duo is recommended only after consulting your doctor.
The product may reduce the residence time in the intestine and thus the absorption of orally administered drugs simultaneously. Therefore, avoid ingesting them together: after taking a medicine, allow at least a 2-hour interval before taking Lovol-esse Duo.
If you are taking anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents, or diabetes medications, consult your doctor or the Endoscopy Center for a possible change in dosage.
The oral suspension should be prepared at the time of consumption. If not ingested immediately, the solution should be stored in the refrigerator and used within 24 hours of its preparation.
Do not add other ingredients to the reconstituted solution.
Simethicone may interfere with the effect of certain reagents used in diagnostics, such as guaiac gum.
Before evacuation, gastrointestinal disturbances, borborygmi, abdominal pain, nausea may appear; if these symptoms become intense, it is necessary to take the product more slowly, in this way the symptoms will be reduced. Hypersensitivity reactions rarely occur. Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you notice side effects other than those reported in this leaflet.

Storage
Keep out of reach of children. See the expiry date indicated on the package. Do not use the device after the expiry date indicated on the package. Do not use opened or damaged sachets. Do not store above 25 °C.
