Swedish Bitters
Dosage and directions for use:- Heaviness in the stomach: 1 teaspoon in 1/2 glass of water or herbal tea.
- Stomach acidity: As above, but with as little liquid as possible (1/4 glass).
- Abdominal pain and bloating: Prepare a fennel and anise herbal tea with the addition of 1 and a half tablespoons of bitters, drink warm. To increase the effect, apply a poultice to the painful area.
- Sluggish bowel: 3 tablespoons in 3 fingers of herbal tea or water.
- Colitis: 1 tablespoon in 3 fingers of water or herbal tea, 3 times a day.
- Flu symptoms: At the first symptoms, take 1 tablespoon in a little warm water or herbal tea, 3 times a day, 2 hours before meals.
- Sinusitis and congestion: Apply a gauze soaked in bitters to the forehead. Moisten the nape of the neck, throat, temples, and lung area with the bitters.
- Blocked nose: Twice a day, perform inhalations with 1 and 1/2 liters of boiling water with 4 tablespoons of bitters added. Inhale covered with a towel for about 10 minutes.
- Irritated throat: Fill a glass 3/4 full with warm water and add 2 tablespoons of bitters. Gargle several times a day.
- Cough: Inhalations with 1 and 1/2 liters of boiling water with 4 tablespoons of bitters added, 3 times a day. Also, take the bitters morning and evening in hot sage and thyme herbal tea. In case of severe inflammation, apply a gauze soaked in bitters to the chest and bronchi (for at least 1 hour).
