Description
Symptomatic treatment of constipation. Powder for oral solution. Works within 24-72 hours. Macrogol is an inert, water-soluble, high molecular weight polymer that has the ability to bind the water used for ingestion, retaining it in the faeces. It rehydrates and softens the faecal mass and facilitates its evacuation. It accelerates intestinal transit by promoting peristalsis, counteracting constipation and preventing the formation of faecal impaction. It is not absorbed or metabolised in the gastrointestinal tract and does not lead to hydro-electrolytic imbalances if taken with the indicated dose of liquid.

Instructions for use
Use the measuring spoon included in the package to dose the powder: fill it level and not pressed, then remove the excess product with a knife blade.
-Adults and children over 12 years of age:
2 to 10 level scoops per day. The dose should be increased or decreased, depending on the individual response to treatment, to allow regular evacuation of soft stools. The maximum necessary dose normally does not exceed 10 scoops per day. Dissolve the powder in water or other liquid (50 ml for each scoop) and take immediately. It is recommended to administer the product in the morning if the minimum dose (2 scoops per day) is to be taken. For larger doses, divide the intake between morning and evening. If no improvement is noticed after 7 days of treatment, consult a doctor.
-Children aged between 6 months and 12 years:
From 6 to 10 kg: 1 level scoop per day;
From 10 to 15 kg: 1-2 level scoops per day;
From 16 to 20 kg: 2-3 level scoops per day;
From 21 to 43 kg: 3-4 level scoops per day.

It is recommended to administer the product in the morning if 1 scoop per day is to be taken. For larger doses, divide the intake between morning and evening. Warnings
Keep out of reach of children. It is advisable to use the product in paediatric age after consulting a doctor. Administration to children must be carried out under the direct supervision of an adult. Consult a doctor before use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package. Do not use if the package is open or damaged. The product may reduce the residence time in the intestine and therefore the absorption of oral medicines. It is therefore advisable to consult a doctor if oral medicines are taken simultaneously, which must, in any case, be administered at least 2 hours apart. In case of adverse reactions, discontinue treatment and consult a doctor. Do not take in case of:
-Known hypersensitivity to one or more components;
-Paralytic ileus;
-Intestinal perforation, obstruction or stenosis;
-Severe inflammatory bowel diseases (e.g. ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, toxic megacolon). The use of laxatives is contraindicated in the presence of acute or unknown abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, rectal bleeding of unknown origin and in case of severe dehydration.
Some gastrointestinal disorders (stomach ache, flatulence, abdominal bloating, nausea and faecal incontinence) may occur. Diarrhoea is a secondary effect of taking excessive doses of the product, and can be avoided by decreasing the dose. Rare cases of hypersensitivity reactions (skin rash) have been reported following the use of products containing macrogol. In such a case, discontinue treatment and consult a doctor.

Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, away from light and heat sources. Close the container carefully after use. The expiry date refers to the product correctly stored.
Validity of unopened packaging: 36 months.
