Description
Orthosis for stabilizing the trapeziometacarpal joint in a functional thumb position, while maintaining the mobility of the other fingers and the hand's grasping ability. Rigid radial splinting for relative immobilization of the first ray of the hand. Comfortable padded lining. Elastic wrist strap and thumb tab with hook-and-loop closure.
The medical device provides thumb stabilization. The medical device provides pain relief and functional improvement in cases of carpometacarpal osteoarthritis.

Instructions for use
Insert the hand into the orthosis so that the splint is aligned with the thumb and the last phalanx is free. Tighten the hook-and-loop closure on the wrist to achieve a firm but comfortable support. Pull the tab with the hook-and-loop closure, wrapping it around the thumb, so that it passes between the thumb and index finger from the dorsal to the palmar side. Then secure the tab with the hook-and-loop closure.
For washing: hand wash in lukewarm water with neutral soap or detergent, rinse well, wring gently, lay flat to dry. Do not bleach, do not tumble dry, do not iron, do not dry clean.

When adjusting the straps, tension them so that they are stable but comfortable. The brace should not be used if relative or absolute immobilization or surgery is required.

Storage
Store in a dry environment away from excessive heat and light.
