Warnings and precautions
This medicinal product should be used with caution in the elderly, in subjects with a history of prostatic hypertrophy and glaucoma, as well as in cases of stenosing peptic ulcer and bladder neck obstruction.
If the preparation is taken at high doses, systemic antihistamine effects may occur (see "Undesirable effects").
Therefore, there is a possibility of sedation (see Effects on ability to drive and use machines).
Possible side effects
Like all medicines, Rinofrenal can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Occasionally, a slight irritation of the nasal mucosa may be experienced during the first few days of use.
Local manifestations affecting the airway mucosa are possible (sneezing, coughing, pharyngeal irritation with a slight tickling sensation). Very rarely, transient bronchospastic episodes have been reported, which subside promptly and can be prevented by the administration of bronchodilators.
In case of high doses, systemic effects from antihistamines, such as sedation and drowsiness, may occur.
Very rarely, side effects such as nausea, headache, urticaria, angioedema, myalgia, arthralgia, pulmonary eosinophilic infiltrates, and intense bronchospastic episodes have been described, which may occur at the beginning or during therapy.
Such manifestations require discontinuation of treatment.
These side effects are generally transient. If they occur, it is advisable to consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Following the instructions in the package leaflet reduces the risk of side effects.
If any of the side effects get serious, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.
