Ruscoroid 10 mg/g + 10 mg/g rectal cream
Ruscogenin + tetracaine hydrochloride

What it is and what it is used for
Ruscoroid contains two active ingredients: ruscogenin, which reduces inflammation, protects blood vessels, and eliminates congestion, and tetracaine, which reduces pain.
Ruscoroid belongs to the class of medicines called "anti-haemorrhoidal" (against haemorrhoids and anal fissures) for topical use.

Ruscoroid is used to treat disorders associated with haemorrhoids, anal fissures, and inflammation of the rectum (proctitis) such as: itching, pain, and a feeling of heaviness.
Consult your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after a short period of treatment.

What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not use Ruscoroid
- if you are allergic to ruscogenin, tetracaine, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).

Warnings and precautions
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using Ruscoroid.

In the following cases, always use this medicine only after consulting your doctor:
• if you are under 12 years of age (see "Children");
• if you are pregnant or breastfeeding (see "Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility").

Do not use the medicine for prolonged treatments. After a short period of treatment without appreciable results, consult your doctor.
The use, especially if prolonged, of products applied to the skin (for topical use) can give rise to skin allergies (local irritations) with a worsening of symptoms or the appearance of skin redness and generalized itching. In such cases, discontinue treatment and consult your doctor, who will provide appropriate therapy.

Children
In children under 12 years of age, Ruscoroid should only be used if strictly necessary and under direct medical supervision.

Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
