Solumag® 1.5 g oral solution
Magnesium pidolate
What it is and what it is used for
In neurology and pediatrics: clinical conditions indicating a state of hyperexcitability of the central and peripheral nervous system, caused by magnesium deficiency.
In obstetrics: vomiting, insomnia, irritability, muscle cramps, painful uterine contractions, eclampsia.
What you need to know before taking this medicine
Severe renal failure.
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients. Do not administer to patients undergoing digitalis therapy.
Warnings and precautions
If symptoms persist or worsen, consult your doctor.
In patients with renal insufficiency, the dosage must be reduced, and renal function and magnesemia should be monitored.
The possibility of cardiovascular and respiratory depression occurring during treatment should be considered.
Possible side effects
Like all medicines, SOLUMAG® can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Rare digestive disorders; diarrhea, abdominal pain.
Exceptional cases of individual intolerance to the ion have been reported, which can be treated with oral or parenteral antihistamines.
Following the instructions in the package leaflet reduces the risk of side effects.
If any of the side effects get worse, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, tell your doctor or pharmacist.
