What it is and what it is used for
In neurology and pediatrics: clinical conditions indicative of a state of hyperexcitability of the central and peripheral nervous system, caused by magnesium deficiency.
In obstetrics: vomiting, insomnia, irritability, muscle cramps, painful uterine contractions, eclampsia.

What you need to know before taking this medicine
Severe renal insufficiency.
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
Do not administer to patients undergoing digitalis therapy.

Warnings and precautions
There are no particular precautions. If symptoms persist or worsen, consult your doctor.

In patients with renal insufficiency, the dosage must be reduced and renal function and magnesemia monitored.
The possibility of cardiovascular and respiratory activity depression occurring during treatment should be considered.
SOLUMAG contains sucrose: if your doctor has diagnosed you with an intolerance to certain sugars, contact him/her before taking this medicine.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding
It is advisable that during pregnancy and breastfeeding, the drug be taken under medical supervision and only when strictly necessary.

Possible side effects
Like all medicines, SOLUMAG can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Rare digestive disorders; diarrhea, abdominal pain.
Exceptional cases of individual intolerance to the ion have been reported, which can be treated with oral or parenteral antihistamines.
Following the instructions in the package leaflet reduces the risk of side effects.
