AEROSOL 3%
Description
A 3% sterile hypertonic saline solution, indicated to facilitate the elimination of mucus and secretions and to prevent dryness of the bronchial mucosa.
Also useful in cases of cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis, and bronchiolitis.
The use of Libenar Aerosol in aerosol therapy:
- thins secretions in the lower respiratory tract due to osmotic effect, for example in cases of cystic fibrosis, bronchiectasis, and bronchiolitis;
- prevents dryness of the bronchial mucosa.
This 3% hypertonic saline solution for inhalation can be used with pneumatic or ultrasonic nebulizers.
It is recommended to follow the manufacturer's instructions provided with the device.
Instructions for use
1) Break the vial and open it by twisting the top part.
2) Pour the inhalation solution into the nebulizer.
3) Use the nebulizer according to the manufacturer's instructions.
The recommended dose of 3% hypertonic saline solution for inhalation is one single-dose vial 2 to 4 times a day.
Components
Sodium chloride 3 g, purified water q.s. to 100 ml
Does not contain preservatives.
Warnings
Each vial is for single use only.
Strictly for inhalation use.
Not suitable for injections.
Before use, check that the single-dose vial is intact.
Do not use if damaged.
Follow the instructions for use provided by the nebulizer manufacturer.
If there is a tendency for shortness of breath or hypersensitivity, the inhalation solution should not be used without medical supervision.
Do not use with other medicines.
Keep out of reach of children.
Do not use after the expiry date indicated.
Do not reuse the vial if it has already been opened: it does not contain preservatives, so there would be a risk of using a contaminated solution.
In rare cases, temporary irritation (e.g., cough) or reversible bronchial constriction may occur. Pre-treatment with bronchodilator drugs is recommended.
If side effects occur, stop treatment and seek advice from your doctor or pharmacist.
