Selenium is a trace mineral present in humans. It is present as selenocysteine in selenoproteins, the major families of which include glutathione peroxidase, thioredoxin reductase, and iodothyronine deiodinase. As a cofactor for these various selenoproteins, selenium is involved in different aspects of thyroid homeostasis.
The presence of selenium in the form of L-selenomethionine ensures good bioavailability accompanied by a lower risk of toxicity, making it appropriate for long-term use. Bioperine is a standardized black pepper extract that contains piperine. Bioperine has been shown to increase the bioavailability of water-soluble and fat-soluble nutrients, particularly L-selenomethionine.

Ingredients
Soy oil, edible gelatin; firming agent: glycerol (E 422); selenium yeast, black pepper (Piper Nigrum L. e.s., fructus) (bioperine); anti-caking agent: silicon dioxide (E 551); L-selenomethionine; colorants: iron oxide (E172).
