What it is and what it is used for
TANTUM VERDE ANTISEPTIC contains amylmetacresol and 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol, both mild antiseptics.

TANTUM VERDE ANTISEPTIC is used to relieve the symptoms of sore throat. Dissolving the lozenge in your mouth allows the active ingredients to act in the painful area, also providing a lubricating action and offering relief. This helps to alleviate pain and discomfort in the mouth and throat.

Consult your doctor if you do not notice improvements or if your symptoms worsen after 3 days.

What you need to know before taking the medicine
This product is recommended for use in adults, children (from 6 years of age), and elderly patients.

Do not take TANTUM VERDE ANTISEPTIC if
you are allergic (hypersensitive) to amylmetacresol, 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).

Warnings and precautions
Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have or are experiencing other throat problems. Due to the size of the lozenges, young children are at risk of choking after ingesting TANTUM VERDE ANTISEPTIC.

Prolonged use of this medicine is not recommended.

Sore throat is generally a minor ailment that does not last more than a week. Consult your doctor if symptoms persist for more than 3 days, worsen, or if other symptoms appear, such as high fever, headache, nausea or vomiting, and skin rash, as a bacterial infection (angina, tonsillitis) may be present, which requires different treatment.

TANTUM VERDE ANTISEPTIC cannot be given to children under 6 years of age.

Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. If you are hypersensitive to this product, stop taking it and consult your doctor or pharmacist. If any of the side effects get worse, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, tell your doctor or pharmacist immediately.

Rare (=1/10,000 to ≤1/1,000): hypersensitivity reactions, including skin rash, burning, itching, and swelling of the mouth or throat.
Urticaria, angioedema, dyspnea, painful tongue (glossodynia), and gastrointestinal disturbances such as dyspepsia and nausea have been reported; the frequency of these adverse reactions is not known (cannot be estimated from the available data).
