Description
Food for special medical purposes, indicated for the dietary management of patients with dysphagia (difficulty swallowing) and high protein requirements. ThickenUP Protein Shake is an amylase-resistant, high-protein powder formulation made with 100% whey protein. It has a pleasant vanilla flavor. It improves swallowing safety and efficacy thanks to the presence of xanthan gum.
- Amylase resistant.
- Thick consistency, Level 3 according to the IDDSI scale.
- Clinically insignificant lactose content.
Indicated for patients with protein-calorie malnutrition and dysphagic patients or in all pathological situations where swallowing liquids is difficult, for example:
- geriatrics;
- maxillofacial and otorhinolaryngology (ORL) surgery;
- neurosurgery;
- neurological and neuromotor rehabilitation;
- Alzheimer's disease;
- Parkinson's disease;
- muscular dystrophy.
Suitable for ages 14 and up.
Packaged in a protective atmosphere.

Directions for use
For a Level 3 consistency on the IDDSI scale:
1. Pour one sachet of product into a cup or shaker and add 250 ml of semi-skimmed milk or 200 ml of water;
2. Shake vigorously for 1 minute;
3. If using water, wait 5 minutes until the product reaches the desired consistency. Wait 15 minutes if using milk;
1-2 servings per day are recommended or as directed by your doctor.

Storage
Store in a dry place away from heat sources.
Shelf life unopened: 12 months.
