Tioconazole

What it is and what it is used for
TROSYD contains the active ingredient tioconazole, an antifungal used for the treatment of nail infections caused by fungi such as:
- Onychomycosis caused by dermatophytes and yeasts.
- Mixed nail infections due to its concomitant antibacterial activity (against bacteria).

Consult your doctor if you do not notice any improvement or if you notice a worsening of symptoms after a short period of treatment.

What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not use TROSYD
- If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to the active ingredient or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6.
- During pregnancy (see "Pregnancy and breastfeeding" section).

Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using TROSYD.
The application of topical medicines, especially if prolonged, can cause allergic reactions (hypersensitivity).

Children and adolescents
There are no data regarding the safety and efficacy of TROSYD in children and adolescents; consult your doctor.

Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Very rare side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10,000 patients)
Mild and transient local skin irritation.

In the event of allergic reactions (hypersensitivity), treatment must be discontinued and appropriate therapy initiated.
Following the instructions in the package leaflet reduces the risk of side effects.
