What it is and what it is used for
Vagisil cream contains the active ingredient lidocaine, which acts locally as an anesthetic and antipruritic.
Vagisil is a cream for topical application used to relieve itching and irritation of the vaginal area and the area around the anus.
Consult your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse.

What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not use Vagisil
- if you are allergic to lidocaine, other local anesthetics, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine;
- in pediatric age;
- during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Warnings and precautions
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using Vagisil.
The efficacy and safety of lidocaine depend on correct dosage. Therefore, you must use the amount of medicine sufficient to achieve the desired effect.
Take this medicine with caution:
- If you are elderly;
- If you are a seriously ill patient;
- If you have mucosal lesions;
- If you suspect a fungal infection (i.e., caused by fungi).
Pay attention to the use of Vagisil as this medicine should only be used in cases of absolute necessity and under direct medical supervision.

Patients allergic to certain types of anesthetics (such as procaine, tetracaine, benzocaine, etc.) may also experience an allergy to lidocaine. If you are allergic to any anesthetic, do not use Vagisil and consult your doctor or pharmacist.

The use, especially prolonged, of products for local application can lead to sensitization phenomena; in such a case, it is necessary to interrupt the treatment and, if necessary, start an appropriate therapy.

Children
Vagisil should not be used in pediatric age.

Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Only incorrect use of the medicine can cause undesirable systemic effects. It is possible that you may experience, albeit in rare cases, allergic reactions.

Adherence to the instructions in the package leaflet reduces the risk of side effects, which are generally temporary. However, if they occur, it is advisable to consult your doctor or pharmacist.
