Food supplement based on probiotics for the balance of intestinal flora.
VSL#3 is a patented blend of live, freeze-dried lactic acid bacteria and bifidobacteria. Eight different strains of bacteria have been selected, grown in specific culture media, and then blended in proportions that optimize product functionality.
Each sachet of VSL#3 contains 450 billion viable bacterial cells, a quantity that helps restore the lactic and bifidobacterial flora of the intestine.

Ingredients
Maltose; blend of live lactic acid bacteria and bifidobacteria: Streptococcus thermophilus BT01, Bifidobacterium breve BB02, Bifidobacterium longum* BL03, Bifidobacterium infantis* BI04, Lactobacillus acidophilus BA05, Lactobacillus plantarum BP06, Lactobacillus paracasei BP07, Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus** BD08; corn starch; anti-caking agent: silicon dioxide.
Free from artificial colours, preservatives, and sweeteners.
Does not contain soy allergens or milk proteins.
*Recently reclassified as Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis.
**Recently reclassified as Lactobacillus helveticus.

Gluten-free and lactose-free.

Instructions for use
Adults: 1-2 sachets daily.
Children: consult a doctor for the correct dosage.
The contents of the sachet should be mixed in a glass of water or any other non-hot, non-carbonated drink, and ingested immediately. Alternatively, it can be taken with yogurt, ice cream, or fruit juice and ingested immediately. It should not be mixed with hot food or drinks, as high temperatures inactivate the bacteria.

Warnings
Keep out of reach of children under three years of age. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. As a food supplement, the product should not be intended as a substitute for a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
The product contains live lactic acid bacteria and bifidobacteria, which are heat-sensitive: therefore, it is recommended to avoid exposure to heat sources or sudden changes in temperature, to store it in a dry place, away from light, and at refrigerated temperature.
No undesirable effects due to ingestion have been reported. In some cases, abdominal bloating may occur in the first days of taking the product, especially if the diet is rich in carbohydrates and fats. This effect is transient.

Storage
Must be kept refrigerated (2°- 8°C) and protected from light.
However, the product can be stored for one week at room temperature (maximum: 25°C) without significant alterations in the number of viable bacteria. The minimum shelf life indicated on the package refers to the product correctly stored in unopened packaging.
