Zeroflog 0.074 g/100 ml mouthwash, 1 bottle
Diclofenac acid

What it is and what it is used for
The active ingredient in Zeroflog is diclofenac acid. This medicine is used to treat the symptoms of irritation and inflammation, including pain, in the mouth and throat (oropharyngeal cavity), such as gum, mouth, or throat inflammation (gingivitis, stomatitis, pharyngitis). This medicine is also used when these symptoms occur after dental treatment for tooth repair or extraction.

Consult your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse.

What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not use Zeroflog
- if you are allergic to diclofenac acid or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6);
- if you are allergic to aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) or other similar medicines (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs);
- if you are in the last 3 months of pregnancy.

Warnings and precautions
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before using Zeroflog.

Do not worry if you accidentally swallow the dose of solution used for rinsing and gargling. This will not harm you because the amount of active ingredient present in a dose of mouthwash is equivalent to one-fifth/one-sixth of the dose provided for systemic use (dose of pills, tablets, or capsules to be swallowed). You can use Zeroflog even if you suffer from coeliac disease (intolerance to gliadin, a protein found in some cereals).

Pay particular attention with Zeroflog:
- if you use this medicine for a prolonged period, as this may lead to allergic effects (sensitisation). In this case, stop using this medicine and consult your doctor to prescribe appropriate treatment;
- if you have a history of stomach bleeding (gastrointestinal haemorrhage) or stomach perforation related to previous active treatments;
- if you have a history of stomach bleeding or a recurring stomach mucosal lesion (recurrent peptic ulcer, two or more distinct episodes of demonstrated ulceration or bleeding).

Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Diclofenac is generally well tolerated and side effects rarely occur. Prolonged treatments may cause coughing.

Not known frequency (frequency cannot be estimated from the available data)
Burning sensation in the mouth.

In clinical studies with ZEROFLOG 0.074 g/100 ml mouthwash, the following side effects were observed in only a small number of treated patients:

a) mild
Nausea, dyspepsia
Hypotension
Chills
Vision disturbances

b) moderate
Headache
Mucous membrane alterations

The use, especially prolonged use, of topical preparations may lead to allergic effects (sensitisation). In this case, stop treatment and consult your doctor.

Adhering to the instructions in the package leaflet reduces the risk of side effects.
